CMA CGM upgrades its Far East / Mexico/ Central America service


CMA CGM announced the reshuffling and upgrading of its Pacific East Coast Express 2 Service (PEX2), linking the Far East with Mexico, Central America & the Caribbean : From August 29th, CMA CGM will run its own PEX 2 weekly service independently, with 8 vessels of 3000/3500 TEU capacity.


This new PEX 2 service will include 3 additional ports of call, offering direct coverage of key markets of Central America through weekly calls from Asia to The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
The new PEX 2 rotation will be Shanghai – Chiwan - Hong Kong – Keelung – Pusan – Ensenada - Manzanillo (Mex) - Manzanillo (Pan) – Kingston – Caucedo - San Juan - Puerto Cabello - Manzanillo (Pan) - Shanghai, with very attractive transit times such as Pusan/ Puerto Cabello in 26 days or Hong Kong/San Juan in 27 days.


The first vessel to be deployed on this improved weekly service will be the 3400 teu CMA CGM Vernet, scheduled to leave Shanghai on August 29th.
With the upgrading of its PEX2 service CMA CGM aims at strengthening its presence on Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean zone, in order to meet trade and clients’ demand on these fast growing markets.
